The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those looking to get mopping off their to-do list. They have impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads for a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models on this list making it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. Highly recommended Webpage has a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers one of my top navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through cleaning.

It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt as well as pet hair and droppings easily. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull out debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop rotates at a high rate and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. Those same front arms can be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's easy to install and is effective, but it's something you'll have to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great option for homeowners looking for an efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device has an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and locate furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and efficiently. This ensures an even and thorough clean, while also being relatively rapid.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach a wide range of surfaces. They can reach corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach spots. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to the walls or other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen odors.

App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

The device has a expensive price, but comes with a large selection of advanced features. It's important to remember that it carries recurring costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner is rated highly on Amazon and offers a wide array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an power button that doubles as a 'Clean button' and a Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a excellent choice. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot comes with two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps in and out of place. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may seem a bit old-fashioned however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the water tank.

Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature was its accurate floorplan map, which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair from pets. It was able to collect some of the hair that shed by our cats, and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots have struggled. It was relatively silent and also had a few lovely jingles to let you know when it was starting or finishing its work.

Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the necessity to change out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't store multiple maps, which could be a hassle if you have a home with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it does have certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its enormous dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as an 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base comes with a few control buttons that let you manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to turn off a child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert in its application.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It's a significant change from the utilitarian all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing view in a market that is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
