World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The upgrade option lets players boost an item's gear rating up 700 points, and then add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For instance, a perfectly broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade, and aren't worth it.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. They also have an unchanging bonus that increases their damage per second. Many weapons also come with an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a group. This bonus may be greater than the damage a weapon upgrade can do on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative effects. In the case of items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance), upgrading them may render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to boost their performance. In the case of a helm or chest, it will boost its defense base while gloves and belts improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it can sometimes reroll to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats that it will get when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.

A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button, which is accompanied by arrows that circle in the item menu. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's levels, or bind it to account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to navigate difficult areas. In general, the greater defense your character is, the more value you can get from every point of health you have and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as much as you can.

To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a unique side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and completed the fountain that corresponds you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees needed for each level will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in cold environments with a large group of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with your comrades.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll need to work on enhancing it to increase physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use to fight the final boss as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have some upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that permit you to sneak past some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquid substances that, if consumed, provide the user with an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.

Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. This can be earned by making them on a table or in an chest of the Alchemist. However, the cost of upgrading changes depending on what type of potion you want to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens an GUI in which you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP level.

Once a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate unless you make use of it again or break the bottle in which it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.

There were some changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. For instance, splash potions now have an average duration of 0:08 (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display). The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. Similarly, using item upgrade on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and refills the bottle.

In addition, there are simmering potions made using splash and dragon breath potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The table of potion ingredients is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. It can also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly important, such as a tiny thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to symbolize friendship or affection, especially between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be swapped at will without losing stats.

The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrading a trinket is a cost-effective alternative to purchasing an entirely new one. It can be done by players for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as the older one, and have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Once the old Trinkets are not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

In general players should make upgrades to their most important items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first before their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment they won't be replacing anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). When choosing the items to upgrade, players should also be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm and shoulders.

When they are no longer useful trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket in the event that it is not saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
