The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His main focus is robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those who wish to take mopping off their to-do list. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to pick if you are looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list, making it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.

It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in one go. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help to tease out debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The rotating mop spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into difficult corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to collect larger objects such as books and toys that have been damaged.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and works well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum for mopping purposes it is important to be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a variety of features.

The device is equipped with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This will result in an efficient, consistent clean that is also quite quick.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be cleaned and dried to avoid build-up and lessen odors.

Another notable feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction strength and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also decide to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it has a variety of advanced features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and mop pads should be changed every three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high rating on Amazon and includes a broad range of physical automation features. It has a power button that can also function as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station once it has completed the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank, and wash and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping module which includes an elastomer pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean you don't have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its precise map of your floorplan which it uses to determine a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting pet hair. It was able to collect many of the hair sheds from our cats. websites got into the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some nice jingles that signalled when it was starting or completing its task.

The app was too basic and you had to change the modules every time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app can't hold multiple maps, which could be a problem for homes with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it comes with some unique features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its huge dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as a 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to turn off the child lock that is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck if it is entangled in a hazard, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It will not work until you remove it manually. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad, except that the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
