Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a common and important way to improve the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

In most cases, however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade equipment due to their requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They increase the performance of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades are found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternately, they can be rescued from items with upgrade components in them with a professional or higher salvage kit.

The amount of damage that an armored item or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the degree of upgrades. The absorption of damage by an item of armor will increase when it is upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. It is important to note that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be more heavy.

There are several types of armor upgrades available in the game, and they all have distinct effects. For example, some upgrades will give the armor a certain amount of health points while others will make it lighter and stronger. The type of armor upgrade that an item can receive will be indicated by the name of the upgrade as shown in the table below.

Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which is shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Certain upgrades require charges to use. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades refresh daily or never expire, depending on the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest method to upgrade your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small treasure chests. look at here is more expensive but it can be obtained through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. item upgrades , such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on armor pieces that are of high-level. These upgrades can provide significant improvements in stats and are definitely worth the investment.

The player should be aware, however, that upgrading a piece up to the maximum upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it will also affect its agility and speed. This is why it is not recommended to upgrade armor pieces beyond +9, since the defensive boost gained is usually not worth the extra weight and power costs of the upgrades needed.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of certain aspects of an weapon. For instance an upgrade can increase the damage dealt by the shells of a shotgun or the accuracy of a sniper rifle. Certain firearms also have enhancements that enhance their intrinsic capabilities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).

The majority of upgrades for weapons require the use of a whetblade, or one of the three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. They can be obtained by completing side quests or by killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.

Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars are required to complete it. The cost of upgrades will be lower if you have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed a bit. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain number of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would reset.

You can still do this, however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off going to stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels, but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a higher likelihood of granting you highest tier blessings and perks.

The majority of players will make the most of upgrades to weapons they most often use to help them level up faster. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their squadmates utilize to increase their power. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will make it more useful when accompanied by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are utilized in the armor's sockets and weapons, increasing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. Jewelry crafting is a method of making them, in which you combine gemstones with specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the level of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained around the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and occasionally by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.

The Jeweler can enhance the quality of the gem in stages that range from Crude up to Royal. Based on the tier of the gem, it will provide a different stat boosts when inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

All levels of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a sufficient level to qualify for them. Jewels can be replaced by another one without damaging the original. You are able to replace the jewel only once in a piece of equipment.

It is typical to use more jewelry to enhance the appearance of. In addition to enhancing performance, the jewels create an area that is stronger than steel, so the repeated friction with pivots doesn't damage them as easily.

A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the appearance of your weapons and shields. These are a small perk and can be swapped freely but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold and a scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, like aegis and traits, cannot be swapped out, and are only recoverable by using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them using Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are items of equipment that provide a wide range of tiny but valuable benefits to your hero. They can be obtained in the areas of starting as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and by doing road interactions. They can also be made by jewelers and later found or purchased from the Trading Post.

The first trinkets that a player is able to unlock is the cloak, which grants an unimportant but beneficial boost to movement speed and evasion. The player can then acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar manner as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has a slot for an upgrade that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded, and is only compatible with certain types of trinkets.

These trinkets also provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero is not in combat. This lets the hero be more effective while inactive and may also help fill in the void of a strong team or the absence of any slots in the talent tree which would normally be filled with hero's ideal statistics.

A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing soon, followed by items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item that is being upgraded. This is especially true if you are looking to upgrade multiple statistics on an item. It's better to upgrade one important stat rather than two suboptimal ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red trinket at the beginning of the game. Mid and top players however, will choose a pink or green ward, depending on the game's matchup. These choices will have a major impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.

Aside from the items mentioned above, players can find other trinkets throughout the game in the form of trophies and awards. These can be earned through completing certain milestones in the story, like finishing a chapter's main quest or destroying a boss. You can check them out by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
