This web application was developed to uphold requirements for the AS619 Final Project.
Abstract: The primary dataset utilized was the Environmental Justice Screening Method (EJSM) feature layer, developed by USC/Occidental College (EJSM Scores, n.d.).
The feature layer illustrates rankings in four main categories: Climate Change Vulnerability, Hazardous Proximity and Sensitive Land Use, Health Risk & Exposure, and Social
& Health Vulnerability (all being scored from 1 to 5) for individuals living in LA County. The scores were then calculated and a final cumulative score is given for each census tract in LA County (out of 20).
A secondary map image layer, Community Boundaries of LA County, was integrated to assist users with understanding the census locations with more relatable nomenclature (ie City of West Hollywood instead of Tract 6037700300).
