World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of an armored weapon or. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will improve after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a significant chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failed upgrade will ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes more quickly.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of the Glyph will boost all the nodes connected to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each level requires a different number of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a new item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This could be a problem in that it could make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a different set of extra bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can use up lots of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player continuously enters or leaves the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrade r NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state which means that the player has to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any gained bonuses such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than standard gear. For example, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will need to carry every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost mentioned above.
