Choosing a Double Umbrella Stroller

It's important to consider your family's needs and priorities when you are shopping for a double stroller. This will help streamline your options and allow you to focus on the features that matter most.

Uppababy G-Link 2 is an excellent double umbrella stroller, that's well-constructed and folds up compactly. It comes with large umbrellas and a large storage bin, and is simple to move.

Lightweight

The top double umbrella strollers are compact and lightweight, yet provide plenty. They aren't as heavy as a standard stroller or jogger, and are typically smaller when folded too. They don't have the bells and whistles that you'll find on full-size strollers, but they often provide large canopies and ample storage space, and reclined seats.

A lightweight double umbrella stroller is a favorite choice for families traveling. It folds easily and can be tucked away in most carry-on bags or trunks for planes. It is an excellent option for narrow entrances and crowded streets. It's also less expensive than a "travel stroller" with more features that can be used on a daily basis.

A few of the best double umbrella strollers, including the UPPAbaby G-Link 2, have certain features you won't see on the cheaper models. This double umbrella stroller features hanging storage pockets as well as snack and toys trays on each seat, as well as two cup holders for parents. Its streamlined design makes it one of the most compact double umbrella strollers on the market when folded and features a large canopy to safeguard both seats.

Some other options that are light like the Joovy Kooper X2, have more of the bells and whistles that you would expect from a double umbrella stroller, including a more comfortable ride for both children due to the padding of the seats and a higher recline for each seat. It's important to remember, though, that the more features you choose, the more your stroller will weigh. Also, because of the way these strollers are able to open and close you'll need to be careful not to let tiny fingers get caught on frames or hinges, especially if your child is sitting in a seat or a chair.

Compact

When folded when folded, the small double umbrella strollers are easy to maneuver and fit into tight spaces. They're an excellent choice for parents who plan to use their stroller often on sidewalks, in shopping centers, or to visit tourist attractions like the aquarium, zoo or museums. These compact, lightweight strollers are also great for commuting, or as a backup stroller to a heavier stroller with more features when traveling.

There are two kinds of umbrellas that are lightweight with very few features and those with a variety of features and comfort options in addition to their compact size. Some of the most effective examples are large pop-out umbrellas with SPF 50, peekaboo windows and seating cushions. They also have 5-point safety harnesses on both sides, adjustable leg rests and reclined seats. Other important aspects to consider are whether or not you need a tray for your child and car seat attachment capabilities and how much storage space each seat comes with.

The Delta Children LX Double Umbrella is a light, low-cost umbrella that is affordable. The stroller weighs only 18 lbs, has an excellent carrying strap, and can be easily put in the trunk of your vehicle or in the front hall closet. The front wheels are made of high-tech and can swivel to give you more comfort and ease of steering. Another option that is highly recommended is the new Kinderwagon Hop, a super narrow tandem umbrella stroller that's ultralight and easy to navigate through doors. The model was out of production for a few years however it's now back and is worth looking into. It also comes with a three-panel canopy, which provides better sun protection than smaller models.

Easy to Fold

The most basic umbrella strollers fold like umbrellas and weigh less than other types of strollers. They are easy to lift, carry and store, making them ideal for those times when you aren't able to carry your full-size stroller for any reason (traveling via plane, traveling to in a foreign country, or visiting grandma). These strollers are usually less feature-rich than full-featured models, but they will offer the basics, such as storage and a sun canopy.

The UPPAbaby G-Link 2's latest version is smaller, lighter and has a more efficient wheel structure on the front, which improves its maneuverability and pushability. It's a great choice for a double stroller. And it's approved by Disney!

A double tri-fold stroller, like the Joovy Kooper X2, offers all the features of a stroller that has an umbrella design, but in a body that's similar in size to a regular full-size stroller. This type of stroller is fast replacing the classic double umbrella, and could be the best option when you're looking for a versatile stroller that is lightweight and easy to carry around.

Most of the double umbrella strollers that we recommend are side-by-side models. The Kinderwagon Hop is an umbrella tandem stroller that is lightweight and easy to fold. It is also relatively narrow. This is a great choice when you're looking for a basic, cheap double umbrella stroller that you can easily throw in your trunk for short trips. It comes with two hanging storage bags on the back of each seat, as well as parent cupholders. It's so simple, it may not get your children through the airport without an oath. However, it will make your journey more enjoyable.

Comfortable Seats

Most umbrella strollers aren't fitted with a lot of bells and whistles since they are designed for one purpose: to get two children from A to B. This means they typically have seats that are comfortable and spacious but do not have recline options or all-terrain wheels.

The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 is the only exception. It is a compact and lightweight double umbrella stroller that has two seats that weigh only 18 pounds. cheap double pushchair makes it a fantastic choice for travelers. It has a large canopy with three panels that protect children from the sun. Both seats have a good amount of storage but not as much as our top picks. It comes with five-point safety belts in both seats, and a the ability to peek into the canopy.

The G-Link isn't equipped with the bellybar or snack tray we'd love to see on our top picks. However, these features aren't essential to an umbrella stroller. Like all umbrella strollers, it must be handled with care to avoid fingers getting stuck in hinges and mechanisms.

In the majority of double umbrella strollers, the seats are side-by-side. However there are models that have inline seating (one seat is in front of the other). Inline models are simpler to navigate through doorways than side by side models however their seating arrangements can cause your children to fight over the best seat. This was pretty equally split among our previous test participants and it boils down to the individual preference.

Safety

Your child's safety should be a top priority when you choose a stroller and the design of a double umbrella stroller can determine this aspect of its performance. Although it's difficult to find a light double stroller that offers the same level of security as larger strollers, some models are close. These strollers typically have 5-point harnesses, calf and foot rests for children, as well as an extendable UPF 50+ sun visor. They tend to be smaller and lighter than other double umbrella strollers. This makes them easier to maneuver through tight spaces like airports or city streets.

Some models, like the Kinderwagon Hop, are side-by-sides and are especially simple to maneuver through narrow spaces. This stroller is a great option for parents who are traveling with young children and need a fast and convenient method of getting around. It is also compact enough to fit into a trunk.

The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 is another model that is worth a look. It is one of the most light double strollers that we have examined. It has a very robust design for an umbrella-style product and comes with a large, accessible storage basket, reclining seats, and a peek-aboo window. The seat can also hold 35 lbs and is able to meet Disney stroller size requirements.

Other models, such as the Jeep PowerGlide double stroller, are more minimalist in their design and may not offer the same features. They are light and can be used for backups or for occasional travel. They're also cheaper than renting the stroller for a whole trip or vacation. They're easy to fold, lift, transport and store away.
