HELLO NOVEMBER!

Hello Friends,

November has arrived. The colder weather is here, the leaves are falling, and with November comes the official start of the holiday season. Many people look forward to this time of the year. (Especially the kids!) However, many adults don't and it can be a time of extra pressure and stress.

Holiday depression, anxiety, and stress are all quite common. Many factors, including unrealistic expectations, financial pressures, and excessive commitments can cause stress and anxiety at holiday time. Headaches, excessive drinking, overeating, depression and insomnia are some of the possible consequences of poorly managed holiday stress.

Why not just focus on the things that you are grateful for and try to push the rest to the back burner? Yes, easier said than done.

I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and hope you take the time to do something that truly makes you happy.

NYC real estate is in the midst of a "price correction". Gone is the term "seller's market", hello to the term "buyer's market". As reported in an article in Bloomberg, sellers are slashing prices as if it is 2009.

Heating 101 in NYC

Renters Be Informed

Now that the weather in NYC has turned cold, people are coming home and feeling happy to turn up the heat. However, many times when you rent in NYC, you are not getting the amount of heat you are entitled to at the times you are entitled to it. There are laws to protect you but you need to know your rights.

THE NYC MARATHON

On the first Sunday in November, New York City hosts the annual NYC Marathon. This is such an exciting day in the city for many but also a traffic nightmare if you are trying to get around. CLICK HERE for more details and on where to go if you want to cheer the runners on.

WEEKEND BRUNCH IN THE CITY

One of my favorite things to do and a favorite of most people is going out for weekend brunch. It's such a great way to unwind with family or friends and eat some good comfort food. But where to go? There are so many options in Manhattan.

AROUND THE TOWN

THE NEW RESTORATION HARDWARE

Restoration Hardware moved from the Flatiron District to Meatpacking recently, and is absolutely fabulous! It is a massive showroom, and there are also plenty of other amenities at the new location on Little 12th Street. For example,

the gorgeous rooftop restaurant. RH Rooftop has a menu from chef Brendan Sodikoff. The dishes include seasonal comfort-food such as prime rib french dip, truffled grilled cheese, and a lobster roll. Dine indoors under crystal chandeliers or outdoors where Park & Wine Terrace is inspired by European gardens and is decked out in overhead canopies, evergreen trees and fountains. Wow.

LOVE A MILKSHAKE?

Let's start by saying this: Every season is Milkshake Season. And there are plenty of spectacular shakes around town (even one of my favorites, pumpkin spice, to compliment this particular season), created with all kinds of amazing ingredients.

BONNY'S BEST

Thanksgiving Day

Favorite Recipe

I would definitely not call myself a chef. However, there are a few super easy recipes that I love to prepare. If you love bananas, vanilla and graham crackers, here is one I would suggest. Will only take you 15 minutes to prepare and it's so delicious.

CLICK HERE for a few more easy holiday recipe suggestions.

1 rectangular pan or tin

2 boxes of Jello Vanilla Instant Pudding

1 container of Cool Whip

Original Graham Crackers

1 Box of Nabisco Nilla Cookies

About 3-4 Bananas (depending on size)

Make the pudding with whole milk. Mix with Cool Whip in a large bowl with a spoon to make the pudding creamier and thicker. Line bottom of pan/tin with Nilla Cookies. Put a layer of pudding. Then a layer of sliced bananas. Then a layer of fully crushed graham crackers. Repeat. Final Layer should be PLAIN COOL WHIP (no pudding mix) and a heavy crumbling of graham crackers. Stick Nilla Cookies around the perimeter of the pan/tin.

I like to chill for a half hour in the fridge. ENJOY!
