World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrade allows players to boost an item's gear rating up 700 points, and then add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like perfect broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) and others, like weapons, don't change much post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition some weapons come with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a single unit. This bonus can sometimes be greater than the damage that a weapon upgrade can do on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the gun will increase until it needs an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a positive thing, but it can also have negative effects. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are extremely lucky.

It is possible to upgrade armor items to boost their stats. This can boost the base defense of a chest or helm while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it could roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will get when upgraded and their relative values. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining 3% of attack damage. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button that has circling arrows in the menu for items. This will roll the item and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor could make a an enormous difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which makes it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, the greater health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.

To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total and each one requires you to complete a specific side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you're looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a large group of enemies in most cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a handful of friends.

It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll need to concentrate on upgrading it for physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss battle as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. In general, you should keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, provide the user with a temporary status effect. There are five kinds of potions that have different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. Alternatively, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.

Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by making them using a craft table or in the Alchemist's chest. However, the cost of upgrading is dependent on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.

To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to choose the potion that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.

Once a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate until you make use of it again or break the bottle within which it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.

There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For instance the splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The table of potion constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and refills the bottle.

There are also simmering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to extend their effects. The potion table is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping and the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket can be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. It could also be a small ornament or object that serves a function but isn't essential as a trinket. In some cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.

In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. As with other upgrades to items trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their stats.

The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be bought with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to purchasing a new trinket. One can upgrade a trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same level of base as the previous trinket but will also have an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players, making them an attractive alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other items of gear will not be replaced soon (for instance, a ring or cloak). When choosing the items to upgrade, players must also take into account the class's preferred stats. For instance, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.

After item upgrading become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to destroy the old trinket, unless it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying a new one.
