Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum can keep your floors clean enough to decrease the frequency of manual hoovering. Pick a robot vacuum that is well-trained in navigation, has the ability to clean stairs and corners and has a large bin that only needs to be emptied periodically.

There are models that can mop and charge themselves This is an advantage that is essential for families with pets or children. The top performers in our tests also have good obstacle avoidance.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a great option for those looking for a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the dust bin once it gets full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors, and they're excellent at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have test. It may get stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like rug and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dust bin and filter clear so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station's dust bin. It then continues cleaning from where it began. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully recharge.

2. iRobot i7+ Roomba

The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and is packed with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot using voice or via the app.

In our tests the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin that removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room, and even vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After being connected, to give voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world of cordless vacs that feel like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like an automobile. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households, but it also fits in well next to the coffee table or a bookshelf where you can move it around like a magic device.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system traps allergens, then lets cleaner air into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and pick up large particles or fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adjusted to the specific task. It quickly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum, and then back to floor.

The model also comes with docks that charge to 100% in 3.5 hours, and gives users an easy access to two attachments and the wand clip. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. It's enough time to vacuum a typical-sized home but not enough to reach every spot. (A second time usually works). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its benefits It's lighter and more mobile than the older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on low-pile carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in a robot. It's capable of sucking up most types of debris and sizes during our testing, and it often passes over the same areas multiple times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. However, it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. This means that it may get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it frequently runs out of battery power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and has more advanced automation capabilities and can better move itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.

best home vacuum cleaner eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built and has a stronger motor, and is able to perform better on floors that are bare and carpets with a low pile, as well as offering a wider range of automation features.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are one of the top makers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app gives you plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and more. It's easy to understand and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. It was not as successful in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models that we tested, and this could be a problem for some buyers.

The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that you can access through the app. You can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on your children or pets while you are away. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned for the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps to keep the robot's bin clear and optimizes suction power.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for flooring made of hard wood. They have a wider cleaning path as well as a large dust bin that can hold 2X more debris than competitors to keep the cleaning area clear for maximum runtime. They also have two side sweepers that can be used to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also comes with AutoSense technology, which senses the presence of dirt on surfaces or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts its power level. The vacuum also has an app that lets you to view the virtual map, manage functions, and schedules. You can also monitor the battery's status and return it to its dock to charge at the touch of the button. The app also lets you to customize the lights on top of the vacuum using different colors, so you can clearly see which areas it's focused on or where it's stuck.

The app also makes it easy to steer the robot manually if needed. For instance my living room rug has a darkly colored border that has a tendency to make it difficult for other robots I've tested. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, but it didn't register it as a cliff. Also, the ability to program weekly cleaning schedules is a fantastic time-saving feature.
