Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum will keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency with which you need to manually vacuum. Pick a robot vacuum that has good navigation, can clean stairs and corners and has large bins that needs to be cleaned out every now and then.

There are models that mop and charge themselves This is an advantage that is essential for families with pets or children. A majority of the top performers in our tests have excellent ability to overcome obstacles.

1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ an excellent option for those looking for a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but don't mind taking the time to empty their robot's trash bin when it is full.

Both robots are adept in removing dirt and dust particles on floors and carpets and can move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have test. It may get stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clean up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other clutter it may encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half of continuous use, and it takes about three hours to recharge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot, and it has the most up-to-date features. It is self-charging and self-navigating. But the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can control your robot through the app or via voice.

In our testing, the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy the dust bin is self-emptying, which removes a major source of maintenance and lowers the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and vacuum the area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets and pick up large dust or crumbs. It has three suction modes that can be adjusted to suit the task. It is able to swiftly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

The model also comes with an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in around 3.5 hours and provides an easy access to two attachments as well as the wand clip. This is a huge improvement over the older Dysons, which require a lengthy charge and are a pain to store.

The main issue with the V10 is its short running time. Its claims on the market that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are not true as CR's tests show. This is a common battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. This is enough time to clean a typical-sized home however, it's not enough time to get into every corner. (A second pass usually works). That's not to say this model isn't a good choice: It's lighter and agile than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is noticeably better on low-pile carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in an expensive robot. It could pick up the majority of types of debris and sizes during our tests and would often go over the same area several times for a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice touch.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it lacks the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, including our top picks, the i3+EVO and j7+ Series. cleaning robots may get stuck on phone cords or furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower recurring cost, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better move its own. It also has a bigger dustbin, and charges more quickly.

The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most purposes, as it has a longer battery life, the ability to change its suction power mode on its own and comes with physical boundary strips, and is controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built, has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on both bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of features for automation.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app provides a range of options to customize your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior customizations, docking frequency settings and more. It's simple to comprehend and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). It didn't do very well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested and this could be a deal breaker for certain shoppers.

The app allows you to access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning area. This feature allows you to check in on your pets or children while you are away. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned for an easy, quick clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that self-empties, which helps keep the robot's dustbin clean and maximizes suction power for each cleaning run.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

In contrast to other robotic vacuums which are designed for both hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They have a wider cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds 2X more debris than the competition to keep the cleaning area free of debris for the longest period of time. In addition, they have two side sweepers that clean up around edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which detects the presence of dirt or debris on the surface and then automatically adjusts the power level. It also has a smart app that lets you see the virtual map and control the functions and schedules. Plus, you can monitor the vacuum's battery status and return it to its dock to charge at the push of the button. The app lets you customize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to determine where it is focused or if it has gotten stuck.

The app makes it possible to manually steer the robot when needed. My living room rug for instance is darkly colored that could cause trouble for other robots. However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border without registering it as an incline. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
