The Best Double Buggy Strollers

A double buggy is the best if you are expecting twins or have two children of different ages. The best ones are easy to maneuver and can handle rough surfaces and kerbs.

They also come with features such as large sun canopies, see-through hoods and seats that are adjustable.

1. Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double

The City Tour 2 Double is the smallest double stroller within the Baby Jogger range. It's designed for travel and easily fits through most standard doorways with its ultra-narrow design, it's also one of the most lightweight double buggies on the market, weighing just 14lbs when folded. This makes it ideal for traveling with a toddler and newborn as you won't be exceeding the luggage allowances of airlines. It also folds to the size of a bag for travel so you can tuck it away in the back of your car when not in use.

The one-handed, Z-shape folding is easy to fold, it's incredibly compact when you master it. It takes a few seconds to unfold. Our test subject found the auto-lock somewhat confusing, and because the handlebar doesn't lock in its position when you push it and it landed on her leg when she used it. She also believed that the handlebar was on the shorter side. This is especially the case when a large change bag is hanging from it.

Unlike other lightweight travel buggies that aren't loaded with features and is among the most comprehensive double strollers available. It is compatible with two carrycots (available separately) and has various recline positions, and a UV 50+ canopy. You can even add the bassinet to either or both seats, and turn it into a travel system.

The four rubber composite tires are great for pavements and urban terrain. However, they're not designed for off-roading. They struggled with long grass and gravel and there wasn't enough clearance between the wheel bracket and the wheel which meant that mud could get stuck easily. Our tester loved this buggy, and it was able to climb some pretty dirt hills.

2. iCandy Orange

The iCandy Orange double buggy is the ultimate in style, versatility and quality. It is an essential item for parents looking for a stylish high-end double buggy that will last. The Orange has an elegant frame that is lightweight and sleek with a large basket that is able to accommodate two car seats. It comes with a gorgeous adjustable water repellent and ventilated canopy with mesh ventilation. It comes in trendy colours that include Pistachio, Fossil, Latte and Rose on the Jet Black frame. The option to add an integrated ride for older siblings is also available.

The 2021 update includes some changes, that improve manoeuvrability as well as an even larger, better shopping basket with a new bumper bar and leatherette cover. The seats are moulded and are really comfortable. They are also adjustable which means they can be positioned according to the needs of siblings. iCandy have introduced the first ever "cinema" seating system that allows parents to maintain eye contact with their children. They can also be repositioned to face either parent or to face the world.

It's a heavier tandem buggy but it's very easy to use and steer, particularly on smooth roads. It is stable in both double and single mode and even on sloped ground. It's not as simple to drive on public transportation, however, since it requires more than one hand on the handlebar. It's also heavy and will not fit into the standard car boot with the seat on, however this can be overcome by careful planning. iCandy has included an infant footmuff and a changing bag with the cost, so it's an excellent value package for new parents.

3. Joie Evalite Duo

This is a tandem stroller which is extremely light. It has two non-reversible seats that are suitable for infants to around 3 years old. In addition, it can accommodate a car seat in the rear.

It comes with an easy and simple to fold mechanism that makes it easy for storage and travel. It also features a spacious basket, perfect for storing all of your baby's and toddler's essentials.

The Joie Evalite Duo is a ideal double buggy for newbies because it provides excellent value for money and is simple to move. It is also extremely lightweight and easy to push across long distances. It also has a premium suspension system that ensures an enjoyable ride for both kids and parents.

This is a stylish and practical city buggy that can be used for twins, a baby and a toddler, or even three children with the addition of UPPAbaby's "PiggyBack board (sold separately). It has a sleek frame and a small size, which makes it ideal for narrow streets in cities and shopping malls. Its swivel wheels on the front and four-wheel suspension allow it to handle rough or uneven terrain.

This model is also great for families that plan to travel since it can fit a car seat in the back. It features an easy-to-fold system that is compatible with a variety of Joie infant car seats. It also comes with a large basket and comfortable seats for both kids. The only downside is that the front seat isn't able to recline completely, which could be a problem for young babies. However, it's a great option for families seeking a low-cost and light stroller.

4. Cybex Gazelle S

This is the stroller to get when you're expecting twins. It's the first travel system manufactured by Cybex and comes with adaptors that make it simple to convert from a single pushchair into a double. The upper adaptors are able to move up and down to match your height while the lower ones can be turned around and rotated making it easy to change from one configuration to another. The Gazelle's seat units recline into a nice flat position and come with an extended UV 50+ sun canopy which is essential for children.

This is the modern multi-purpose stroller that is able to adapt to your family's needs. It's suitable from the time of birth as a mono-pushchair. It can be used up to four years old as a double pushchair, with the addition of a CLOUD Z iSize car seat or a second-seat unit, or Gazelle Cot. The new harness with one-pull makes securing your child a simple and intuitive process, especially when you're carrying the baby on your back!

The Gazelle S is unique to other double strollers because it folds up compactly, with both seats tucked away. This makes it easy to store at home, or even in your trunk. A huge lower basket holds up to 25 lbs of shopping, daily essentials or groceries and a detachable shopper basket offers even more space for all your purchases. A single-pull harness, a huge recline, and practical features such as the shopping basket that can be removed it's a very flexible and comfortable stroller for families. It also comes with puncture-proof tires so you aren't worried about flat tires during your travels.

5. Nipper Double V5

The Nipper Double V5 is a new model from Out 'n' About of the award-winning buggies that are all-terrain. It's made for siblings or twins and it has independent reclining seats, compatibility with carrycots, and a light frame that makes it easy to maneuver on bumpy terrain.

The height adjustable handle and rear wheel suspension provide an enjoyable ride for children up to 22kg, and the hard-wearing pneumatic tyres are easy to clean and offer a smooth ride for running. The 360-swivel front wheel can be locked to make it easier to maneuver around town, and the one pedal brake that locks easily is simple to use.

Our testers found that the Nipper Double is incredibly easy to navigate, even on bumpy terrain or when turning in an area with a lot of traffic. The possibility that the seats could be reclined independently was an enormous hit.

The hoods were also easy to adjust for sun or wind protection. double buggy pushchairsandprams.uk didn't provide the same amount of coverage as the Baby Jogger City Mini Hoods. It's probably worth carrying an additional rain cover in the case.

Overall, our testers were impressed with the way that the Nipper Double allowed them to take their twin girls Sydney and Lyla to all sorts of adventures, from seeing wildlife in the woods to rushing to the park for a quick playdate. They were also amazed by how cozy and spacious the two seats are, with plenty of room for growing toddlers to sprawl out in. The lack of parent-facing seating and the inability to use a car seats on this buggy were both noted as a problem by our test participants. They would have also liked to see a larger storage space to store shopping items and other accessories.
