Basic Guide

Lumber in this game shows the number of unused stat points you have. You gain stat points either from killing bosses (boss chests have a chance to drop extra stat points too) or from using the -greed command. The following commands are used for stats spending:

-greed x   turns x gold into lumber (stat points) at a rate of 100 gold per lumber if you are below 500k       base stats or 200 gold per lumber if you are above 500k base stats.
-agi x     spends x lumber (stat points) on agility for your hero.
-str x     spends x lumber (stat points) on strength for your hero.
-int x     spends x lumber (stat points) on intelligence for your hero.

Note that by not specifing a number x, these commands will use all available gold or lumber.

Items in this game can often be combined or upgraded by using the –create command with the appropriate items in your hero’s inventory (and not in your chocobo's inventory). For new players the Soul Given By Helper item can be upgraded with this command by using boss spirits but only in the order of the bosses, so for example:

Soul Given by Helper + Bandit King spirit = Bandit King Soul
Bandit King Soul + Tribal Chief spirit = Tribal Chief Soul
Tribal Chief Soul + Arthas Spirit = Arthas soul

At level 400, once you get Cain weapon/armour/gloves, you start upgrading them too with boss spirits, for example:

Cain weapon + Kamael spirit = Kamael weapon
Kamael weapon + Azrael spirit = Azrael weapon
Azrael weapon + Samuel spirit = Samuel weapon

Note that, starting with Cain gear, there are stat or level restrictions to equip upgraded items. If you upgrade an item but do not meet the new requirement then the item drops onto the ground and will have to be picked up by your chocobo.

When killed, bosses in this game drop stat points for everybody in range; you receive the same amount of stat points regardless of the number of players in range. Bosses also drop chests that last for 10 seconds initially and can be extended by clicking on the ‘extend timer’ button (the chest's timer is represented by its mana). Chests can have items dropped by the boss in their slots 1-6, which you can roll for individually by clicking on the corresponding ‘Roll for Item [slot number]’ buttons. Winning the roll on an item from a chest will send the item to your chocobo (backpack), which can be summoned by pressing the ‘esc’ button. If the chocobo’s inventory is full then the item goes to your personal storage area, select the chocobo and press Q to send it there to pick up the item.

Chests will always have gold which can be rolled for, however, they have also have a chance to spawn with a button for bonus stat points; this gives extra stat points to everybody in range but can only be clicked once. When a chest’s timer expires all the items drop onto the ground, but if nobody rolls for gold or clicks the bonus stat points button then these extra resources will just disappear. Try to always click on the bonus stats button before the chest's mana reaches 0. Note that the "Roll for Everything" option does not include the bonus stat points, this button has to always be clicked separately.

When the game finishes loading, start a new hero by using the -new command. Your corrupted soul will start with a few basic items in its inventory. Head over to the level 1 portal (Middle Earth) to start killing bandits for levels. Levels in this game give gold which you can turn into stat points (lumber), see the Stats section to learn the commands for this. After a few levels type -greed to turn your all gold into lumber, then type -agi to spend all your lumber on agi, which will help you farm quicker at the start.

If you ever want to return to the respawn area type -suicide, there is no penalty for dying in this game aside from the waiting time. While at the respawn area spend 50 gold on the basic health potion from Eve. This will increase your max health by 500 while it is in your inventory (which effectively doubles your starting health), so if you're down to the last potion try to avoid using it until you have a replacement potion. Return to farming bandits for levels and spending your gold on agi.

At around level 10 you will be able to kill the first [named] enemy, Marble's Executive Officer. Like most [named] and [boss] enemies, he drops a chest and gives stat points to all nearby players when killed. Read the Loot System section above to understand how the chest works. The items he drops will be better than the starting equipment, so try killing him a few times for his weapon/armour. Be sure to at least roll for the gold and click the bonus stats button if it appears (bonus stats don't always appear in chests), the rest of the items will fall onto the ground after the chest expires. Now continue farming bandits and the named for levels and extra stat points.

When you have enough agi to kill bandits in one attack, you can try killing the first boss, Bandit King Marble. If you only have the basic health potion you might die a few times before killing him, but if you save for the 300 gold potion then he becomes a lot easier. Unlike [named] enemies, [boss] enemies drop spirits that can be used to upgrade your soul type item. The starting soul item is the 'Soul Given By Helper'; it can only be upgraded by each boss' spirit once, and it has to be done in the order that bosses are encountered (basically in order of their strength). To upgrade the soul item, you must have both the soul item and the boss spirit in your inventory, then you must type -create to combine them.

Kill the Bandit King Marble boss until he drops his Bandit King's Spirit, then with his spirit and your Soul Given By Helper in your inventory type -create. This will create the Bandit King's soul, which can be upgraded later with the next boss' spirit (Tribal Chieftain's Spirit from the Barbarian Tribal Chieftain) by using the -create command again. See the section above on Upgrading Items.

Once you have the Bandit King's Soul, get the 300 (or preferably farm for the 800) gold potion. At this point you can do the level 30 trial to transform into either an Angel or Devil for tier 1. Angel has abilities that do damage scaling with agility while devil has abilities that scale mostly with strength. Note that all heroes in this game have autoattack damage that scale with agility, but the stat that you should put points into depends on what your abilities scale with and not your autoattack. Both angel and devil have the same choices of normal tier 2 hero paths available at level 200, so do not worry about that yet.

To start the trial, walk over to Lucifare in the respawn area when you are at least level 30. Kill the angel if you want to be an angel or the devil if you want devil. Pick up the soul that they drop then use your level 30 ability to transform into tier 1. Killing then might take a lot of tries but you should respawn in less than 10 seconds so just keep going back to fight again after each death, they regenerate health very slowly.

Once you choose either angel or demon, you should kill the second boss, the Tribal Chieftain, and upgrade your soul with his spirit. Now you can use the Fallen King's Palace portal to fight the third boss, Fallen King Arthas Menethil, or you can farm the previous nameds and bosses for more stats before facing him. Bosses will start getting harder to fight alone from this point onwards, if you don't farm enough stats. One tactic that you can try is bursting them with your damage abilities then run away, wait for cooldowns and repeat.

When you have Arthas' Soul and weapon/armour/gloves (and level 50 if you have not reached it already), you can use the level 50 portal at the respawn area to travel to the Lesser Demon Colony area. In this area, there are 3 [boss] enemies who you need to kill for soul upgrades, the order is Zeff then Enuk then Monak. There are also 3 [named] enemies here who each drop a different item, if you collect all 3 items then you can do -create to combine them into a single accessory. Nameds generally are significantly easier to kill than bosses, so you may wish to farm them for stats before trying the bosses. Since the strongest named in this region is weaker than Enuk, it is a good idea to get the accessory mentioned previously (which needs one drop from each named) before fighting Enuk and Monak.
