Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills or stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also reduce space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. remote hoover comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent as the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will show you precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs are required including emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time, with the mop capable of running for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to remove finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its direction and clean the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only drawback I could find to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and crumbs. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 also comes with a side brush that is able to be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture like chairs and table legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture with a low profile, making it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that enables the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.

Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is intuitive and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you when it overflows, thus reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive available and comes with a lot of additional features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a great method to keep your home hygienic for longer.

There's a wealth of options available, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and alter a variety of preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are numerous features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of relying on a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and feels robust and well built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
