Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles<br /><br />Greenpower designs, manufactures and distributes an entire range of heavy and medium-duty electric vehicles. This includes transit buses, school buses, cargo buses, and shuttles.<br /><br />EV Star is a highly customizable zero-emission vehicle that's fully FTA certified, Altoona tested and Buy America conforming. It offers a range that is world-class and ADA wheelchair provisions. It also has cargo delivery setups.<br /><br />EV Star<br /><br />GreenPower Motor Company produces a full line of high-floor as well as low-floor all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab &amp; Chassis platform, which is able to accommodate many different bodies and upfits for a variety of applications. The platform's clean sheet design allows for optimal battery pack placement and a lower center of gravity, resulting in higher payload to range ratios.<br /><br />The EV Star REEFERX is designed to meet the needs of mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The class 4 refrigerated truck's one interior wall structure and higher insulation compared to traditional trucks enable seamless sanitation, better temperature control, and a longer life. The EV Star REEFERX delivers superior cargo capacity and a top payload-to-range ratio for zero emission passenger transport and goods.<br /><br />GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems that will enable fleets to move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able of wireless charging of 75 kW.<br /><br /><br /><br />We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on the local highway for a few hours. We found it to be simple to drive and comfortable to drive for long distances. <a href="https://www.mymobilityscooters.uk/brands/green-power">mymobilityscooters</a> is able to suppress wind and road noise while driving along the highway. It glides effortlessly over bumps and ruts. The acceleration is surprisingly fast and the car has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one pedal driving" by taking off the accelerator.<br /><br />The EV9 provides a large range and can be recharged within three hours or less at home, or using any commercial charger. The driver has the option of choosing between two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode prioritizes the power, cruise control and handling while sport mode focuses on speed. Both are fun to drive and provide an experience unlike any other for those who have never driven an electric vehicle before.<br /><br />In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, including a multi-purpose electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, micro-transit or transit bus, vanpool, or paratransit vehicle.<br /><br />GreenPower is currently producing around 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration looking to electrify schools across the nation, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet the demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This means they will be eligible for federal assistance in transit.
