Path of Exile Item Upgrades

The performance of many Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading the performance of them. They can be a great source of additional damage or more AD or even more affixes.

Sometimes, however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade gear because of their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be used on armor and weapon items. They improve the effectiveness of the item they are attached to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of the game and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged using a specialist or higher salvage kits to salvage upgrade components from other items.

The amount of damage that a piece of armor or weapon will absorb is contingent on the degree of upgrades. Upgrading a piece of armor to maximum upgrade level will increase its damage absorption. It is important to note that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be more heavy.

There are a variety of armor upgrades available in the game. Each one has a distinct effect. Some upgrades give armor an additional number of health points, while others make it more powerful and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade an item can be given, as illustrated below.

Certain upgrades require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which is shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Some upgrades also require a fee to use, which is indicated by the "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges associated with these upgrades refresh daily or never expire, dependent on the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest way to upgrade your armor. You can find it by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, however it is obtainable from smelters located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can give a significant increases in stats and are definitely worth the cost.

Upgrading a piece of armor to max upgrade level will greatly boost its defense but the wearer must be aware that putting more weight on it can drastically decrease its speed and agility. This is why it is generally not recommended to upgrade armor pieces above +9, since the defensive boost gained is generally not worth the additional weight and power cost of the upgrades required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of an weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. Certain firearms also have upgrades that improve their innate capabilities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of overheating of the weapon) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).

The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade. It's one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by finishing side quests, killing a certain amount of bosses or monsters, or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.

To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece or Whetblade you need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific amount of bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade, the higher the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials The cost of upgrading will be lower.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would be reset.

You can still do this but the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're much better off going to the stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels, but good base scores and stat distributions. These will then have a better chance of bringing you the most prestigious benefits and blessings.

The majority of players will prioritize weapon upgrades for the weapons they use most frequently to help them level up quicker. Players should also upgrade the weapons their teammates use to boost their strength. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to increase its utility when paired with experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to increase the effectiveness of a skill or provide additional effects on weapons and armor. They can be made through the process of jewelry crafting, which is where you combine a gemstone and several ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the quality of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents can be gotten from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses around the world, or by finding Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The quality of a diamond can be improved upon by the Jeweler in stages that range from Crude to Royal. Based on the level of the gem, it will provide a different stat boosts when inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

All levels of jewels can be made at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a sufficient level to be able to get these. Jewels can be replaced with another one without damaging the original. However, you can only replace one jewel in an item of equipment only once.

It is typical to use more jewels to enhance the appearance of. Apart from improving performance, the jewels create a surface that is harder than metal, which means that repeated friction from pivots doesn't damage them as easily.

In addition to the upgrades mentioned above players can also acquire glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. They offer a small benefit and can be swapped freely, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis, aren't swappable and can only be retrieved using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are pieces of equipment that bestow an array of small but useful benefits to your hero. They can be acquired starting in the starter areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and by performing road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket that a player can unlock is the cloak. It gives a small but valuable boost in movement speed and the ability to escape. item upgrading will then be able to acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar manner similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any device. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.

These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that remain active even when the character is not in combat. This allows a hero to become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also make up for the absence of excellent slot in the talent tree or team that are normally filled by the hero's optimal stats.

A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item that is being upgraded. This is especially true if you are looking to upgrade multiple statistics on an item. It's better to upgrade one important stat instead of two subpar ones.

Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red trinket at the beginning of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand will pick a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's ability to control his map.

In addition to the items listed above, players can also find other trinkets in the form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. They can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story. For instance, completing a chapter’s main quest or beating an opponent. You can view them by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
