Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab &amp; Chassis platform, which can accommodate various upfits and bodies for multiple applications. The platform's design philosophy of clean sheets allows for the optimal placement of battery packs and lower center of gravity resulting in better payload-to-range ratios.<br /><br />The EV Star REEFERX is designed to meet the needs of mid to last mile refrigerated delivery as well as catering applications. The refrigerated trucks of class 4' one interior wall structure and a higher insulation level than traditional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer life span. The EV Star REEFERX delivers superior cargo capacity and an industry leading payload to range ratio for zero-emission passenger and cargo transportation.<br /><br />GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems. This will allow fleets to move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able of wireless charging at 75 kW.<br /><br />We had the opportunity to test the EV9 for several hours on a local highway and found it easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth over ruts and bumps, while the EV9 does a great job of suppressing wind and road noise on the highway. The acceleration is quite quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one pedal driving" by simply lifting the accelerator.<br /><br />The EV9 has a wide range and can be charged within three hours or less at home, or using any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. The eco mode is a preference for torque and cruise control while the sport mode increases speed and handling. Both are a lot of fun to drive and provide a unique driving experience for anyone who has not driven an electric vehicle before.<br /><br />GreenPower provides a variety of other EVs that include a multi-purpose all-electric minibus dubbed the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, microtransit or transit vanpools, buses, or paratransit vehicles.<br /><br />GreenPower is already producing around 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric vehicles. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demands of the Biden Administration which wants to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be Altoona-tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant and ADA certified. This means that they are eligible for federal assistance in transit.
