Cots 4 Tots - A Charity That Helps Families With Neonatal Intensive Care

Cots for Tots provides accommodation close to the hospital for families with babies at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It is managed by the Great Appeal, the dedicated charity for Bristol Children's Hospital. Abbey Silvester ran in support of the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run.

It is recommended to transfer your child to a bed when they are ready. This will prevent resentment towards their new sibling. It can also make them sleep better.

The Cots 4 Tots story

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a non-profit organisation that helps to support the Marine Corps toy drive. It offers financial, administrative, logistical, and promotional support for local Toys for Tots coordinators, in addition to a variety of services that the Marine Corps is unable to provide. It also provides educational and informational materials to the public and arranges for national corporations to incorporate information about Toys for Tots into their paid advertisements, and conducts an annual program of public education and publicity.

The Cots 4 Tots story began in the year 2010 with a fundraising appeal for Bristol's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Michael's Hospital. The charity has raised tens of thousands of pounds since its beginning, helping families of premature and sick babies throughout the West of England and South Wales. Its work includes family accommodation homes and the provision of state-of-the-art equipment for the NICU.

One of the primary focuses is the Cots for Tots House, a cost-free "home from home" for families who stay at the hospital. It is located right next to the NICU and allows parents to be close to their infants. Since 2012 the charity has assisted more than 2,100 families to remain at home.

Families who reside at Cots For Tots House are reassured they are not on their own. They can discuss their experiences with other parents experiencing the exact issue. They also have access to a wide range of facilities to make their stay as pleasant as is possible.

The charity also funds a music therapist who goes to the NICU to reduce anxiety and pain levels for infants and their parents. It has been proven this improves the quality of life for the patient and their families. Music therapy can decrease the amount of time needed to treat children, thereby saving hospitals both time and money. The therapist employs specially-designed resonant devices that are tuned to specific frequencies and play soothing music for babies. Additionally the instruments generate vibrations that can soothe the fathers and mothers.

The Cots 4 Tots website

The Cots 4 Tots website is the home of a special charity raising money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael's Hospital in Bristol. "You build friendships here, you create a real community and feel a deep love for one another," she said. "Without it, who knows what our lives would have been like."

Selecting the right crib for your baby is an important choice. There are a range of sizes and styles which is why you should think about the things you want to consider long-term. A cot must be strong and have railings that are sturdy. It should also be easy clean and have an easily removable mattress. Some cots have a height adjustable base, which is perfect for parents with small children.

Moving can be stressful for anyone however for parents who are expecting it's even more so. They must face a newborn and all the additional issues that it brings. By hiring a transportation company in advance and making some key preparations, you can ensure a smooth transition.

The Cots 4 Tots page on Facebook.

A charity that helps families with seriously ill babies is celebrating its tenth birthday.
