Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The best way to upgrade your gear in Path of Exile is through upgrading your items. This allows you to improve it without having to depend on costly trades or drops. This article will show you how to upgrade your items effectively.

Upgrades in equipment can add an increase to the item's base stats. This bonus scales depending on the rarity and level of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components make your weapons and armour better. They can be obtained by the destruction of enemies, finding them in spheres of items or buying them from karma dealers. You can also salvage them from equipment that contains the components or by using salvage kits of high-end quality, such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items upgrade components, upgrade components aren't destroyed when they are removed from an item.

The main function of upgrade components is to allow an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other functions. item upgrade can be stacked to increase the level or experience gained by upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can also be forged to provide extra bonuses. For example, a crafted glyph will boost the upgrade chance of its target, while an upgrade boost will boost the defense or attack quality of a weapon or armor.

You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. You can also make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component has a distinct experience multiplier, which affects how much more experience an item will gain when it upgrades with the component. Organic components, for instance have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. You should upgrade the organic components first, until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment and then move on to mechanical upgrades.

Each item has a maximum upgrade number that can be received. The number of upgrades are determined by its upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon that is 10th level. The most common weapon upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and a armor upgrade for tier 5.

Sets

A set is a group of items which share a bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once and the upgrade increases the amount of bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted a little more (for instance, +1 to 12+/13+/14+) Each time you upgrade the item with an additional stats is boosted randomly.

Upgrades to a weapon may increase its damage base, which may be necessary for certain builds. Weapons cannot be upgraded for a higher maximum defence roll than their base. It is possible to increase value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they're not always superior to a high-level Runeword.

If you are upgrading an item that comes with bonuses, the item can be rerolled a single time, and its guarantee will reset back to zero. The same amount of power dies are used to reroll an item as it would be used to upgrade it. However the new item comes with different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will need the appropriate amount Minerals and Erons and a power dice of each kind. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased with Gold. NPCs also offer special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled one time with the same materials as the original item.

Rerolling

A player is able to roll any item they have acquired during the game, provided they have enough reroll tokens. When an upgraded item gets rerolled, it will be exchanged for an equivalent version at a level 1 of the same item in a different set. Reroll tokens can be purchased from the store for small amounts of in-game currency, but they cannot be refunded. The new item will offer the same bonus features as the previous one, but the stats will also be different.

Players can change the identification of equipment in addition to rerolling it by interacting with an NPC upgrader. This will change the identity from an armored weapon to a weapon, or vice versa, all the while retaining its base stats and attributes that are required. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.

The player can also upgrade the level of an item for any equipped equipment. This can be done by engaging with an upgrader NPC and obtaining upgrade components. This will cost a certain amount of crests as well as Valorstones depending on the upgrade track and the item type. For weapons, each step up will add an additional 5percent to the damage.

An upgrade can boost its power, but it will reduce its effectiveness. It is therefore important to strike a balance between the two. Some items are not worth upgrading, while other items need to be upgraded to maximize their potential. One player may wish to upgrade breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% block chance or FHR) to explore what else it can be.

Rerolling is a common practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People do it to gain access to the character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise have. These items can be costly and time-consuming to obtain and the RNG isn't always a good fit. The only other options are to invest money or grind a lot. This is why rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

When upgrading an item you can choose to level up the weapon or armor. But, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I think it was meant to to add value to rare items, but since gear in general drops fairly quickly and can only be upgraded one level up it is likely that you will replace the item before it becomes too old. It's also not worth it to level items that have gem sockets since the value of the gem will far outweigh the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.

When you click on the upgrade option on an item, you will see a small window with the item's upgrade template and the crest and Valorstone costs to increase the item level. The cost of upgrades will vary based on armor and weapons as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the stats that will be added to an upgraded item, as well as its current base ilvl.

The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the current ilvl of the item and the upgrade template. The ilvl will also be decreased by the upgrade templates reduction percentage for lvl. For example, a weapon with an upgrade decrease of 8% will reduce its ilvl by 8 - 8%.

The item will receive upgrades to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damages and block, parry, and dodge rating in addition to the base level. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template, you can determine the amount of damage or defense that the item will be able to sustain after being leveled up. This is displayed below the cost and the upgrade percentages. Apart from the practice equipment, all weapons and armor gain the same stats when they are leveled up. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can command a much higher price than an unupp'd version. This is also true for other pieces of armor like tiaras and circlets.
