World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may raise an item's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats improve in value. The value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly depending on the upgrader you choose and what type of upgrade you choose to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to a lower level). The average item level can be found on the character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell gear players can evaluate the levels of the item. It's a good gauge of an item's worth and the amount of damage it is able to deal. The item level can also be used to evaluate items when examining a vendor's inventory.

On PC, you are able to see the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are various theories about how the item level calculation is done. One theory says that the item level is determined by formulas that determine the worth of an item's stats really are. It considers the fact that various perks have different value and that sockets have gems that increase the overall value of the item. This can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl since the size of the area the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, such as by adding an amount to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The item's stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game uses them in various ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon, and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The base stats of a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modifications which are then increased by the player's skill.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. The affixes could do things like give the item extra damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving dead or decreasing the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an exclusive name to the item.

All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount of gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges just like the other rerolling methods.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However, all items will contain at least one stat in that range unless they are a unique item or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.

This is another aspect that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. But as with base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item basis, and the item compare interface would not display all the possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the chance of finding items as well as the properties created by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the chance to upgrade their gear in earlier waves, and is therefore more valuable in early game runs than later ones because most players value higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability which increases with each level of the item and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be created or spawned by using the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on their material type) to add another 40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Additionally some items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be purchased at the store or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be costly and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their items if it fails.

When Cases gg upgrade an item the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading the item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to how much the success rates can be improved and the chance of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%.

The performance of an can be affected by the luck of the item. Every item has an average success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases that chance by 5percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects can be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
