Path of Exile Item Upgrades

The performance of many Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading their performance. They can be a good source of additional damage and more AD or even more attachments.

Rare-grade equipment can be superior to modernized Common or Magic equipment because of their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be applied to weapon and armor items. They boost the performance of the item they're connected to. Upgrades to armor are available in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged by using a professional or higher salvage kits to salvage upgrades from the items.

The amount of damage that a piece of armor or weapon can absorb depends on the extent of its upgrades. The absorption of damage by an item of armor will increase as it is upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. However, it's important to keep in mind that this will increase its weight, which will cause it to weigh more than before.

There are a few different kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game, and they all have distinct effects. For instance, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain number of health points while others will make it lighter and stronger. The name of the armor upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade the item can be given, as illustrated below.

Some upgrades are magical or a combination of technology and magic which is identified by an "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require charges for use. They are referred to as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges for these upgrades refresh daily or never expire dependent on the upgrade.

The cheapest way to upgrade armor is with Iron Ore, which can be found by exploring the area and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, however, it is available from smelters located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can give a significant increases in stats and are definitely worth the cost.

The player must be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to the max upgrade level will boost its defense. However, it can also affect its agility and speed. Therefore, it is typically not recommended to upgrade most armor pieces beyond +9, since the added defense is usually not worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades give players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. For example, an upgrade may increase the damage dealt by a shotgun's shells or the accuracy of the rifle that snipes. Certain weapons come with special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic qualities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).

The majority of upgrades for weapons require the use of a whetblade, or one of the three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. They can be obtained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain number of bosses and monsters.

Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost of a certain number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars you will need to complete the upgrade. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be less.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets changed a little. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would be reset.

You can still do this, but the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off visiting stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These will be able to give you the best tier of benefits and blessings.

Most players will want to prioritize upgrades to the weapons they are most likely to use to help them level up faster. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their squadmates use to boost their strength. Shepard, for example, should upgrade the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when used with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to increase a stat or provide secondary effects in weapons and armor. They can be created through a process called jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem and various ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the level of the gemstone is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or by collecting Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The quality of a diamond can be improved by the Jeweler, in stages that range from Crude to Royal. Depending on the tier of the gem it will give different stat boost when slotted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

All tiers of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a sufficient level to qualify for them. In contrast to other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out with another jewel of the same type without damaging it. However it is only possible to replace one jewel in an equipment piece once.

Using more jewels in a movement will make it feel smoother and is typically performed for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and create an outer layer that is more durable than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to the movement.

In addition to the upgrades mentioned above, the player can also obtain glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These are a small perk and can be swapped freely however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold and Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, like aegis and traits, are not swappable, and can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are items of equipment that offer an array of small, but beneficial benefits to your hero. They are available in the starter area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained through vendors and after completing road interaction. They may also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased at the Trading Post.

The first trinkets that a player can unlock is the cloak. It grants an unimportant but beneficial boost to speed of movement and the ability to escape. After that, they can get amulets, rings, and necklaces in a similar way to how a player can acquire armor and weapons. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be used in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and only works with certain types of trinkets.

These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't in combat. This lets a hero be more efficient when they are not active. It also helps compensate for the lack of a strong team or talent tree slots which would normally be filled by the hero's best stats.

A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing soon, followed by items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item that is being upgraded. This is especially true when you are looking to upgrade multiple stats on an item. item upgrader to upgrade one important stat rather than two suboptimal ones.

In the beginning of the game players who are in the jungle will typically want to upgrade their trinket into a red one in the middle and top players will usually opt for a green or pink ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices will have a major impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.

In addition to the items listed above, players can find a number of other items in the form of awards and trophies. They can be obtained through completing certain milestones within the story. For example, completing the main quest of a chapter or defeating an opponent. You can view them by clicking on the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
