Bedside Cot Reviews

A bedside crib, also known as a baby bassinet, is placed next to your bed so you can be able to take care of your child during feedings at night and nappy-changings, without needing to leave the bed. They also help in creating independence as your little one grows more comfortable in their own space to sleep.

The Joie Roomie Glide

The Joie Roomie Glide is a bedside crib that lets parents sleep with their infant while ensuring they're sleeping safely. The smooth glide motion helps to ease your baby back to sleep. Its innovative features allow you to monitor them without leaving your bed.

The sliding side panel of the crib can be raised and lowered by a simple press of a button. This makes it simple to reach inside and soothe a crying baby at night. It also has 11 height adjustments that allow it to fit the mattress of almost any size bed. It also has adjustable folding feet to make sure that it's placed at just the right level.

The cot is cushioned, features mesh sides for better the airflow, and the mattress is made from high-density foam for added protection. It can also be cleaned and you can keep the crib clean. It is fitted with a bed sheet that is suitable for the crib.

Contrary to other cribs that are bedside, the Roomie Glide is suitable for the majority of beds, including divans thanks to its straps and clip attachment. It can also be used as a stand-alone crib if it is not attached to the bed. It's packed with features designed with parent-baby bonding in mind.

One thing to keep in mind is that even though this crib is great for infants, it will not last long after your little one turns six months old, so you'll need to invest in an additional cot. Overall, Roanna felt that the Joie Roomie Glide was a really good buy and she particularly liked its sleek design.

The Roomie Glide is available to purchase at John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna thought was a reasonable cost for a cot that has these advanced features. She also liked the way it was positioned in the bedroom, and believed that the grey shade will work well in modern homes. She did point out that it's not a good idea to rock a baby in the early years because it could create an unhealthy sleep pattern that can be difficult to overcome later.

The Tutti Bambini CoZee

The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning bedside crib that was designed with a safe night's sleep in mind. It comes with an adjustable side rail that can be easily lowered to feed your child in the evening without disturbing them or getting out of bed. This is perfect for breastfeeding mothers! It's also lightweight and easy to move around during naps or when traveling.

We love that it's made of soft fabrics with breathable mesh sides that promote airflow and ease of use. It comes in oak or charcoal with a range of melange fabrics that will blend with most decor styles. Anna found it sturdy and secure when affixed to her bed with the legs securely snapping into the bed and the zips secured to ensure baby safety. It took her around 10 minutes to assemble and didn't require tools, with clear instructions and a video as well as a customer support contact number should you run into any problems.

As well as the usual features you'd expect from a crib for your bed, like being able to be connected to your existing bed with a stay-in-place connection system and six levels of height The CoZee comes with an additional incline option that can be used to help alleviate reflux or congestion in infants. It's also machine-washable, a must for all the dribbles and vomit that comes with having a new baby!

The CoZee is a great option to keep your child in the first six months of acquiring the ability to sleep independently. It can be used as a crib, changing station or toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa-bed extension pack, it can be transformed into an actual crib. While it isn't able to feed your baby, or magically sleep them, it will rock them and send them off!

The Chicco Next2Me Magic

This is one of Chicco's more expensive options, but it is packed with lots of features. It can be used either a side-sleeper, or a standalone crib, and is suitable for babies from birth to six months. It features a brand new mechanism to open and close the side panel and is simple to use even with one hand. It's also more flexible than its predecessor, having 11 different height settings and retractable legs for a secure installation underneath any bed.

Our testers appreciated the ease of access offered by the side panel that can be moved up and down with a single push of a switch. This was particularly useful in the evening when feeding time was over, since they could reach inside and pick up their baby without waking them up.

The side panel can be lowered on its own however it isn't recommended as this increases the chance of your baby falling out of the cot. The patented safety locking system makes sure that the side panel will only remain in place if it's attached correctly to the parent's mattress. This is a wonderful feature to have for peace mind, especially in the case of breastfeeding and frequent feedings at night.

Telescopic legs enable the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, such as divan bases and beds with drawers. It comes with a tilting function for babies with reflux, as well as the ability to rock to calm them after eating. It's also very spacious and offers great ventilation due to its mesh sides.

The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects, despite the lengthy instruction manual. It's heavier than some of the other side-sleepers, but it's fairly mobile and can be moved from room to room easily. It's also small enough to fit into a travel bag when not in use which is an advantage when you have to transport it. The only negative our testers have found is that the side panel didn't move as much as other models. This caused it to be a bit more difficult to see your baby from your bed.

The Shnuggle Air

The Shnuggle Air bedside crib is an excellent choice for a crib that grows with your child. It's designed to be a sleep-co-sleeping bassinet that can be attached securely to your bed, but can also convert into a stylish cot when your baby is ready. It's perfect for night-time feeds and for strengthening your bond with your baby.

Contrary to other cribs for bed like the Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. The mesh side panels with dual-view as well as the hypoallergenic, breathable airflow mattress allow for maximum airflow, keeping your baby comfortable and cool. The gentle incline helps reduce colic and reflux. The zipper-down side lets you to feed your baby or soothe them at night.

bedside cot mattress (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear directions and everything you require to get started. It took us around an hour to assemble and was relatively simple. The only issue was the absence of written captions on a few images which made it difficult to understand some of the steps. Overall, the procedure was simple and the materials used were of top quality.

In the co-sleeping mode, we discovered the Shnuggle Air to be an ideal choice for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a C-section since it allows them to easily reach out to their infant to feed and comfort them without having to climb out of their bed. It's also great for mothers who want to avoid the hassle of getting in and out of a traditional cot, or placing their child down to sleep.

The gliding motion was discovered to be extremely helpful in lulling babies into sleep after feedings at night or midday. The drop-down sides make it easy to feed or soothe babies during the night. This was a huge selling point for our exhausted test moms. Although it doesn't rock or have extra features like a sound system the Joie Roomie Glide's sleek design and functionality are a welcome addition our best bedside crib reviews.
