It is recommended to visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.<br /><br />The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.<br /><br />Valorstones<br /><br />Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show the preview of an item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.<br /><br />The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.<br /><br />Item upgraders can be found in many places, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. For instance, it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.<br /><br />
