Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item are improved by upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an indicator of the level of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. A lot of items can be reforged to increase their stats.

You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available all over all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the main method of upgrading equipment. These are the items that can slot into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Some upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while other components offer an overall bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be placed on any equipment and offer lower bonuses than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.

Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will read Blocked if you don't have enough of either.

The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components required to create the specific item. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the rarity and level of the item increases. However you can lower this cost by purchasing upgrades from a merchant, or trading them with other players.

Most weapons can be improved by a prefix such as a rune or an insignia. Other weapons can be upgraded by adding an suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They are animated to grab the viewer's eye and entice curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles body language, making them more effective in conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph increases a stat's value by a specific amount. This is clearly displayed on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount by which glyphs can improve the stat, but rather the maximum value by which it is able to do so. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier and quality of the product you are admiring.

Most upgrade components inserted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have an unusable rune or glyph that hasn't yet been added to your gear, you can move it to a different piece of equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

If you wish to remove a glyph from an item you must salvage it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed that it was installed in, but you can recover the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards therefore it should not be considered a loss.

The addition of a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you take it down. You can also apply an inscription to your equipment to give it an additional benefit. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly rather than all at once. This is helpful for those who take lots of damage from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes of weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, including mysterious boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants players a new random affix, which is typically superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens are also a good option to reroll stats on weapons that can be upgraded for better damage or perks.

Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the item upgrade menu, however they are still eligible to receive upgrades. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its level, which means items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.

item upgrader can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls will roll a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.

Rerolls are a great option for upgrading an item, but players must be aware that it can reduce the total ilvl of the weapon by the number of rerolls used to increase it to its final ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective on Diadems and ring items, which have no other options for raising ilvls.

The reroll system has been criticized by players as being too expensive, and it would be more fair to let people pay for it with money or a food item that allows players to modify their builds without a lot of time and effort. However, paid rerolls are not something that the developers would like to incorporate at this point in the game's development. They plan to add a potion that will allow players to change their race in the future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of an upgrade for a given stat. The second is to boost the effect of an upgrade, which increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The upgraded item will maintain its iLevel, but will have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.

When upgrading your items, it is important to keep in mind that upgrades are not guaranteed. In most cases a better roll is based on the glyphs. However there are instances where a higher or more special roll can occur. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique item type, then it is likely to gaining an upper level.

Upgrades can be expensive particularly if you are upgrading equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The price will be based on the item's iLevel base and the amount of upgrade levels it comes with. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to get to the next upgrade level.

If you're lucky, your upgraded item may get to the top of its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional benefit. This will provide a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. Generally speaking, the upgrade effect is increased by a factor of +3.

Depending on the item's base level and its upgrade process, the iLevel for the upgraded item will change too. For example, an item that is upgraded from being a scarce or exclusive item to an extraordinary one is likely to gain the Enhanced Defence of the new base item.
