The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those who are looking to get rid of mopping off their list of things to do. Some have great navigation and obstacles avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads themselves to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than other options, making it more maneuverable in tight corners or under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.

It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. Its suction motor of 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help draw away debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by much. remote hoover rotating motor spins at a high velocity and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into difficult corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It's easy to install and works well, but this is something you'll need to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a variety of features.

The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the home and also find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and effectively. This ensures an even and thorough clean and is also rapid.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surfaces. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach spots. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor near to the walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.

App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction strength and select an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.

This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it has a variety of advanced features. It is important to keep in mind that the device will incur recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For instance, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every three to six months.

The robot vacuum mop has an excellent Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. These include the power button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station once it has completed the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. It's a top-performing device, smart navigation, and a long battery life that allows you to keep your home tidy with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that is, it can do mopping and vacuuming. The robot comes with two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair from pets. It was able capture a lot of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even got into some of the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots have struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were nice jingles to let you know that it was starting and working towards its goal.

The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to hold multiple maps, which can be a problem for homes with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want an intelligent robot that can do both vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.

The base has a couple of buttons for control that let you manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to switch on the child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognizing objects.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it is entangled in a hazard like a power cable draped over a rug. It won't function until you manually untangle it. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert in its application.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxy units.
