World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. item upgrading Casesgg is the sum of all its leveled up perks (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be expensive, dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be altered to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can use as PvP is restricted at a lower level. Players can see their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear players can look at the levels of the item. It's a measure of the item's condition and quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done using the item's level.

The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, as well as its ilvl. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula that determines how much an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different worth and gems in sockets increase the value of the item overall. This can result in a calculated item's ilvl that is typically very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl since the level of the area the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an amount to its haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game utilizes them in various ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to motivate them to try out other weapons. The stat mods on a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by the player's level.

The upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item with rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can provide the item extra damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving an exclusive name to the item.

All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and other items that can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other rerolling options.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may select which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are determined by the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the range, unless it's an item that is unique or a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that could change is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to increase. Similar to the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the probability of obtaining items as well as the properties generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a chance to acquire better equipment earlier in the game and is thus more beneficial in early game runs than in later ones, because most players value more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance that increases with each item level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck or to increase the existing Luck of the item up to 140.

Additionally some items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be outfitted to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be found in the shops or made with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limitations on how much success rates can be increased, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%..

The performance of an upgrades is also influenced by the Luck of that item. Every item has an average success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be obscured by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
