Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to improve your gear without relying upon large-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your items.

Upgrades to equipment grant an increase in the item's stats. The amount of bonus varies based on the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components are the parts that improve your armor and weapons better. You can find them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in the form of item-spheres. You can also get them from equipment containing the components or by using high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components are not destroyed when they are removed from an item.

Upgrade components are primarily used to upgrade an item but they can also be used for other reasons. They can be stacked in order to boost the level or experience gained by upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can also be made to provide extra bonuses. A crafted glyph can increase the chances of upgrading its target, while a boost upgrade increases the defense or attack capabilities of the weapon.

Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. This will show the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. You can also utilize the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either instance, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components are collected.

Each component has its own experience multiplier, which determines how much more experience an item receives when it is upgraded by the component. For instance, organic components have a more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade with organic components until you reach the multiplier of experience for the next level of the equipment or weapon, and then move to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the experience multiplier Each item also comes with an maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. For instance, the highest possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon of tier 10. However, the most commonly used weapon upgrades are a tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of items which share a bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the least once. The upgrade will increase the bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted a bit more (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+) Every time you upgrade the item with an additional stats is increased randomly.

Upgrades to a weapon may increase the damage base, which could be important for some builds. However, weapons are not upgraded to a higher defense level than their normal base. It's possible to increase the value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, but they might not always be superior to a higher-level Runeword.

If you're upgrading an item with a bonus, the item can be rerolled one time and the guarantee will reset back to 0. Rerolling will cost the same amount of power dice as the process of leveling an item up, but the new item will have various bonuses. Upgrades can be made by visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will require the proper amount of Minerals and Erons as well as a power dice of each kind. These can be bought by using Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPCs will also offer special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled one time using the same materials as original item.

Rerolling

If players have enough to reroll tokens, they are able to roll any item they've acquired during the game. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced with a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens are sold at the store for a small amount of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The upgraded item will still come with the extra bonuses of the first however its stats will differ too.

In addition to rerolling items players can also change the identification of any item by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identity from an armored weapon to a weapon, or vice versa, while maintaining its base stats and attributes that are required. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.

The player can also upgrade their level of an item for any equipment equipped. This is accomplished by interacting with an upgrader NPC and obtaining upgrade items. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, the item type, and the number of crests. Each upgrade will add 5percent more damage to weapons.

Upgrading an item can make it more powerful, but it will also decrease its quality. It is therefore important to keep both in check. Some items are not worth upgrading, while others require upgrading to reach their full potential. For example, a player might want to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor that comes with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to explore the possibilities of what it can be.

Rerolling is a standard practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People do it to try to obtain the character or weapon they cannot otherwise get. These items can be costly and time-consuming to acquire and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only alternative is to spend money or grind for a long time. Rerolling is a popular option in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. However, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe this feature was intended to give value to expensive and rare items. However, since most items are replaced quite quickly and can only be leveled up one level, you will generally replace it before it gets too old. It's not worth it to level items that have gem sockets as the power of the gem will be greater than the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.

When you click the upgrade option on an item, you'll get a small screen with the upgrade template of the item as well as the crest and Valorstone costs to boost the level of the item. Weapons and armor will have different prices, with the latter generally being more expensive. The upgrade template outlines the stats to be added to an upgraded item, along with its current base ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and the crest is calculated based on the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. In addition the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be reduced by the template's lvl reduction percentage. For example an upgrade of 8% will reduce the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 8%.

In addition to the base ilvl increase, the item will also be upgraded in other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry and dodge rating. The increases are also dependent on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template you can check the amount of damage or defense an item will receive after it is leveled up. This is shown below the cost and upgrade percentages. All weapons and armor that are not practice equipment get these stats when they level up. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled version of a piece of armor or weapon is able to command more in trade value than unupp'd versions. The same applies to other armor pieces such as circlets or tiaras.
