This sleek design also helps save space in the freezer.

Before purchasing, make sure to check the exact dimensions to ensure it will fit in your home, advises Hernandez. Be sure to leave enough space to allow to allow for air circulation from all sides and that the doors can open fully without hitting the cabinets or blocking the hallway.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Bosch is a top brand that is known for its top-notch refrigerators. Their counter-depth French door models are flush with your counters for an integrated design. The refrigerators are efficient and quiet, and have a smart-home feature that allows you to manage them using your smartphone or tablet. french door fridge freezer is large enough to hold space for leftovers and food items. This model features an ice maker that produces fresh, filtered ice on the spot. It's also simple to use. The dispensers for ice and water are inside the refrigerator, and not on the front. This way they don't ruin the sleek exterior. The dispensers can be used with any cold beverage, which includes juice and sports drinks. The refrigerator is made of a durable stainless-steel that resists scratches. It's fingerprint-resistant, too. If you're worried about smudges look into a cleaning product that gets rid of fingerprints without harsh chemicals.

This refrigerator comes with a large interior space of 20.5 cubic feet, and Bosch's unique farmfresh system, which has four cutting-edge freshness technology which keep fruits, vegetables and leftovers fresh up to three times longer than the average. The temperature of the freezer is near perfect, with temperatures never fluctuating more than a fraction of an inch from the an ideal temperature.

Although the Bosch refrigerator is more expensive than the GE Appliances model, it has more features that make it worth the extra cost. It has a door-in the door storage area where you can store small amounts of food in a bin which fits right into the fridge door. It also features a convertible compartment with five temperature settings to suit different types of drinks, snacks and meat. The Bosch fridge has a smart home feature called Home Connect that lets you control it remotely with your tablet or phone.

The only drawbacks to this fridge are the flimsy main fridge drawer and the difficult-to-use right main door latch. The fridge is otherwise a great option for single households and kitchenettes that require more storage space than a standard French-door refrigerator. And the stainless steel is a gorgeous accent to any kitchen.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

LG counter-depth refrigerators are small and provide plenty of space. They're also priced lower than conventional-depth French door refrigerators and remove the need for a separate smaller under-counter freezer. The LG Smart Mirror InstaView counter-depth refrigerator (LMWC23626S) isn't an exception, offering the capacity of a standard fridge, but in a sleek, modern design that has an internal dispenser that makes it easy to access filtered water.

This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The door bins are spacious and the top shelf can be folded down to form a a half-depth shelf that allows taller items to fit. The bottom of the fridge is stocked with crisper drawers, and the deli drawer with its full width is ideal for meat and fresh produce.

The refrigerator has a recessed icemaker on the back wall. This saves space and allows you to store more ice bags. The refrigerator uses door cooling that uses vents on the freezer and fridge door to allow cold air to enter. french door fridge freezers eliminates hot spots and maintains the temperature of the refrigerator.

This LG refrigerator stood out during our tests. It provides plenty of space to serve a family, but we found a few annoying quirks. The freezer drawers are not as cold as we'd like. The middle drawer was 41 degrees during our peak testing which is warm enough for ice cream and other frozen items. The temperature of the rest of the freezer remained about 36 degrees.

Another issue is that the refrigerator doors have sunken handles on the inside and underneath, which make it hard for shorter people to comfortably move them closed. It may seem trivial but we prefer front-mounted handles on refrigerators, which make them easier to open and shut.

This fridge is a bit pricey, but it's worth it for anyone who wants an ultra-modern look for their kitchen. This refrigerator is ideal for those who want to upgrade their current fridge or are building new homes and want a seamless look in the kitchen.

Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Samsung's newest counter-depth French door fridge model, the RF23M8090SG, is priced at $4200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also performed well in our cooling test, however we're not a fan of the plastic handles or the fragile crisper bins.

One thing that distinguishes the RF23M8090SG apart is its Bespoke line that lets you personalize your fridge using removable color panels that can be swapped out when you're bored of the ones you have currently. There are 11 different color options with pastels through more bright colors. There are four metallic finishes. Some of these panels can be customized with photos or text making the fridge a personal touch point that can match your tie-dye Crocs, Rick Owens dress or Andy Warhol banana neon sign.

You can even change the color of the fridge's LED lighting, which is pretty. The interior of the fridge is finished with a sophisticated finish which reduces smudges, and makes cleaning a breeze. The only flaws that really bother the RF23M8090SG are its crowded beverage center, and a little learning curve to access the door-indoor feature that houses a water dispenser as well as the pitcher. You need to feel for the lever that is located under midway down the door. Once you find it the second door opens within the fridge, containing the pitcher docking station and the water dispenser.

The 6.8 cubic-foot freezer compartment is large enough to accommodate a large amount of frozen foods and comes with an amazing slide-out drawer system that allows you to get the food you're looking for without opening the whole compartment. There's also a butter-bin-style storage compartment inside the freezer that allows for simple storage of small items and a drawer with a huge capacity which can store larger frozen items. The drawer can be locked using a password to keep out unwanted guests and has an LED light that is handy to let you see what's inside in an instant. The freezer is also able to track energy use and help you cut down on your energy bill by using the SmartThings with smart-enabled Energy mode.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

French door refrigerators are a great addition to any kitchen. They are sleek and are a great fit for all sizes of rooms. If you're looking for the convenience of this style without the height, a counter-depth refrigerator is the best option. This Frigidaire model, which we've tested extensively and has received an above average rating in our ratings because of its low cost and thoughtful features, such as an adjustable temperature drawer.

It also has a few annoying issues. Our test data shows that the FGHB2866PF is able to warm up quite a bit in the freezer, and can get uncomfortably warm in the fridge's innermost shelves. This is evident in our heat maps which show how internal temperatures vary from minute to minute. The butter bin in the orange region at the top right is particularly warm during our testing period. It might not seem to be a problem at first however, the fridge is spending most of the time above 32 degrees.

It's also worth mentioning that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model, which may be a consideration for some buyers. The main issue is that this fridge isn't the best. It's not equipped with the latest features and a durable construction which makes it difficult to recommend it over better models at this price.

In many ways, this Frigidaire looks and feels like the stainless steel model of fridge you might see in your local appliances store. It's a safe choice with a brushed finish that looks good and is impervious to smudges, but it doesn't do much to differentiate itself from other brands that have more features and more affordable.

If you're looking for a counter-depth French-door refrigerator but don't want to spend much, the FGHC2331PF could be worth looking into. It has enough storage space for the majority of families, and does a decent job keeping food fresh. And even if it isn't an energy-efficient model, it doesn't come close to costing the same amount as our top-rated models do.
