The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning appliances. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are a great choice for those who want to take mopping off their to-do list. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to pick if you are looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It is smaller than other models which makes it easier to maneuver into tight spaces or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery halfway through an efficient.

It is very efficient and does an outstanding job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one sweep. The suction motor's 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs, and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful in narrow corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't create the same volume of sound while vacuuming or mopping and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. robot vacuum hoover to install and is effective, but it's something you'll have to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a wide range of features.

The device comes with a powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and effectively. This will result in a thorough, consistent clean which is also relatively quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching a wide range of surface areas. These include corners and baseboards as well as other difficult-to-access spots. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls or other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be washed and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the odors.

Another noteworthy feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.

It's expensive, but has many smart features. It's important to remember that it carries regular expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every three to six months.

This robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and includes a broad array of physical automation features. It has the power button that serves as a general "Clean button, as well as a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or just want to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean house with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two components which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that includes microfiber pads. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may seem a bit old-fashioned however, they mean you don't have to think about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which help to shield certain areas of your home from being swept with mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair of pets. It was able capture an enormous amount of hair our cats shed, and even was able to get into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some lovely jingles to let you know when it was beginning or finishing its work.

The app was too simple and you had to change the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app can't keep multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want an intelligent robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it has some unique features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock that doubles as a charging base and housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually begin a cleaning task or recall the robot, or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you free it. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
