Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills and stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its low cost, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean and complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and also vacuums well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of attachments and brushes, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you could decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only drawback is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, just a glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station features a handy LCD screen that indicates the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time and the mop is capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and easily understood however we would like to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to remove smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It is able to change its path automatically and clean around the objects without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child-lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.

The only issue I have discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of smart features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture that is curved like table and chair legs. It can also get under furniture that is low-profile which makes it an ideal option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots, which is a nice touch that assists the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by excessive back-and-forth movements.

Unlike auto vacuum , which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and understand, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also detect when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available, but it packs in a lot of additional features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and other small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a useful method to keep your home clean for longer.

There's a plethora of settings on offer which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a variety of preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also has several features that aren't offered on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, with a white and metallic design that looks elegant and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list, but it's still not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping system is also well designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
