All interview transcripts were transcribed and then manually coded. These codes were then discussed at a meeting with the QI team and Commissioners to determine the most important themes. These themes, along with subthemes, are outlined in this report. This is the first study that uses a qualitative QI approach to study the waiting time for ADHD assessments. The results of this study will be used to inform future improvement initiatives in CAMHS. This could include a possible changing the way wait lists are managed, as well as ways to better support young children and adolescents as waiting for appointments.
